Good morning, World 🙂
You ready to get gluttonous up in here? Because it’s Thanksgiving, baby! And we’ve got plenty to be thankful for.
Before I yammer on about getting drunk, stuffed, and in an all-out brawl with members of our extended families, I would like to take a moment to extend some love to my friends who have lost someone this holiday season. This is has been a hard year for some of us, folks. And while I was fortunate enough to not experience a major heartache this year (knock on wood!!!), there are those among us who are not so lucky.
If you’ve lost someone or something dear to your heart, it may not be so easy to count your blessings and feel grateful for what you have, and there’s nothing selfish about that. You’re allowed to grieve. You’re allowed to feel angry, upset, and even numb. Feel however you feel. Write about it, if it helps. Draw something. Hell, sometimes doing some sit-ups helps me grind out a little despair. Nothing like a little cardio-therapy to get your heart beating again.
In all seriousness, though. If you’re hurting right now, I’m sorry, and I want you to know that you are not alone.
You are loved.
You have a purpose.
The world is a better place because you are here.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
