Good morning, World 🙂
How are you on this fine morning?
This outline is coming together nicely. If I buckle my ass down and put some chapters on paper, I will have it complete before the 3rd, which would be smashing.
On a different note, I’ve been contemplating where I’ve been directing my efforts in relation to my goal, and I’ve come to a few conclusions.
Firstly, writing on Medium is a great experience, and it helped me to refine my writing style, but I am going to deprioritize blogging on this platform. It’s not medium’s fault. This is a great website that dribbles a little cash into your bank account, and reading about politics, philosophy, and the general happenings of the human experience has been a good time, but it’s not in line with my goal of making money as a paranormal writer. I would rather take that couple thousand words a week and funnel it into my creative output than force myself to crank out an unrelated side-piece on the benefits of yoga for a dollar a week. Seriously. It was a good experiment. Time to conclude it.
I’ve been evaluating how I’m going to release my paranormal romance series “Blood of the Witch.”
At first, I was going to release my 25k word novella “Warmth,” followed by the first book in the series. Springboard one book off the other, you know? But according to some of my super-secret top tier intelligence experts on my youtube advice council, it’s wise to have something out there to start building your email list, and to help keep you from tumbling off the 30-day Amazon cliff.
As you may have noticed, my email list does not exist.
Guess what September’s goal is going to be.
So, here’s the frame up:
I’m going to finish editing “Warmth” and put it up for Preorder soon. By soon, I mean that’s a definite goal for September. I need to beef up my list of reviewers, start my email list, and lay some bricks on that fucker. I’ve got to send out some ARC copies and get this shit on the road, as well as clear my desk of all these fiverr orders that have begun to pile up.
Let’s get into it, World!
P.S. If you’re a paranormal romance author, I would love to review your book.
It’s about time I got some genre-specific material on this blog, and there are plenty of great books out there. Let’s network, let’s do internet lunch. Let’s climb to the top of Amazon mountain, or something like that. If you have an ARC laying around, feel free to send it my way.
