Good morning, World πŸ™‚

You know what’s a great productivity booster for writing? I’ll give you a hint — and no, it’s not crack cocaine, making a deal with the devil, or hiring a ghost writer.

It’s using the dictation feature on Google doc.

You see, when you have a document open in Google doc (on your phone), there’s a little microphone in the corner of the keyboard. Click that shit, and start talking. Google will transcribe your voice right into the document! You can even say words like “Comma,” or “period” and it will type them into the text for you.

This discovery rocks. I outlined two chapters this morning by pacing back and forth in my room, talking to myself. Business as usual, I assure you. But this time, I had a decently sized word count to show for it. I’m officially all about dictation for my notes.

This shit is going to revolutionize my process.

Anyway, what are you up to?

I still have to make some phone calls and do some adulting, but after that I’m free as a bird to work on what I please.

Interesting idea of freedom, that.

Talk to you later. Do something that lifts your spirit today.

xoxo Liv

  1. Freedom comes with responsibility. At least you accept yours and prioritize. Makes you successful. And glad you found a tool that works for you! I love it when those little discoveries work out so well.

    1. It’s the best πŸ™‚ As Jocko Willink would say, discipline equals freedom. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

      1. Oh my god, I know! He was my inspiration to post pictures of my coffee cup every day. I love his daily 4:30am pics of his watch XD

  2. Hello, Liv,

I’m glad you found this tool to help you, and that it actually increased your word count! A positive result like that will encourage more of the same.

By the way, talking to yourself is not a bad thing. Sometimes it’s the only way to get a sensible answer! It’s OK as long as you don’t start arguing with yourself.

If I can accomplish what I need to today, I think that will lift my spirits. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Have a good afternoon, Liv,

    Bill

    1. Oh no! Lol yeah, it definitely isn’t the most accurate at times. Nothing can ever truly replace a keynoard, alas.
